Swansea City have not yet made approaches to Paul Tisdale and Nigel Adkins about the vacant manager’s job.
Scunthorpe United manager Nigel Adkins and Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale are some of the main people being linked with the Swans job.
|“Can’t stand Adkins, would not be happy with that at all.”|
Tisdale was linked last year, but he’s somewhat distanced himself from a move – saying he’s happy at Exeter and not looking to leave. Since then, odds on him to take over at the Liberty Stadium have dropped to 3/1 (SkyBet) and 6/1 (Victor Chandler).
Exeter City vice-chairman Julian Tagg says there’s been no contact from Swansea regarding their manager:
‘There’s been no contact from Swansea,’
‘We wouldn’t stand in his way, he’s his own man, but we would do everything we could to keep him.’
Nigel Adkins says he hasn’t had any contact about the move, and didn’t even realise he was linked with the job:
‘I haven’t heard anything,’
‘Someone’s phoned me up and made me aware that I’m favourite for the job or something like that.
‘I think I’ve been down this road on a couple of occasions so I just crack on and do what I’m doing at Scunthorpe United and I’m working very hard.’
Gary Speed remains the clear favourite amongst the bookies so far as they’ve shortened his odds once again. SkyBet are offering 15/8 on the Welshman, the Sheffield United coach is 6/4 with Victor Chandler.
