According to the local press, Roberto Martinez is close to signing a striker to replace loanee Warren Feeney.

Swansea City had agreed a fee with rivals Cardiff to sign Feeney, but the two parties couldn’t agree terms.

Martinez has now said that they will try and sign him in the next transfer window in the Summer.

Unlike last year when all of our targets were revealed, both Huw Jenkins and Roberto Martinez are remaining very tight-lipped on who they are looking to sign, though the Swansea boss has said a centre back and striker top his targets list.

Very few names have been mentioned this month as regards to our targets. The few we’ve noticed are:

Jordy Brouwer
Liverpool signed the young Dutch striker in 2007 from Ajax’s Academy. He has also played for Holland’s under-19 international side.

Roberto Martinez has a strong link with Reds’ boss Rafael Benitez which enabled him to take Paul Anderson on a season-long loan. With Brouwer aged just 19, he’ll need to develop and you never know he may opt to loan him out to us.

Rumours also suggest Brouwer was at Luton to watch the Swansea game on the weekend.

Koen van der Biezen
Also a Dutch striker currently playing for FC Den Bosch. This season he has played 11 games, scoring 12 goals.

He’s a highly rated striker and with his goal scoring record he is a huge asset to the team. It looks extremely unlikely we’d be able to take van der Biezen off their hands.

Who do we need to sign this month? What areas should we strengthen?
