New Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray is hoping Marvin Emnes can return to the club and make an impact at the Riverside Stadium after scoring 2 goals in 4 games during his loan spell at Swansea City.

Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of the 22 year-old Dutchman, but a change in manager at Boro hasn’t helped our attempts to extending his stay at the Liberty Stadium.

Emnes returns to his club after Wednesday’s game at home to Bristol City, and Mowbray says he hopes he can make a similar impact at Boro like he has with the Swans:

‘He’ll be back in the building on Thursday,’

‘They [Swansea] play Bristol City on Wednesday night and he will be returning to the north east after that game.

‘So, we’ll probably catch up with him on Thursday or Friday and see how he is feeling. Hopefully he comes back in buoyant mood and is happy to be back.

‘I’ll assess him over the next week or so and hopefully get him involved and hopefully he can make an impact like he has at Swansea.’
