BBC Sport are today reporting that Kerry Morgan is set to join Newport County on a three-month loan move.

Since turning professional with the club two years ago, the 20 year-old striker has had 5 loan spells with different clubs – Ostersunds, Port Talbot, CF Balaguer, Clevedon Town and Neath Athletic.

Morgan made his debut for the club on August 11th when he came on as a 73rd minute substitute in the 3-0 League Cup win at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

A week later, he made his full League debut as boss Paulo Sousa started him on the left wing as we drew 0-0 at home to Reading.

He impressed and four days later he featured again, coming on as a sub as we beat Coventry City away 1-0 – our first win of the season.

Sousa had plenty of injury and suspension problems to contend with at the start of the season which gave youngsters like Kerry Morgan a chance to impress in the first team.

Shaun MacDonald recently joined Yeovil Town on loan, and more young players are likely to head out on loan in search of valuable first team experience.

Newport County currently sit top of the Blue Square South League – 4 Leagues lower than the Championship.

County boss Dean Holdsworth said:

“We’re pleased to have Kerry on board as well because he is another one who gives us options up front and on the wing.”
