Physio Richard Evans says Garry Monk’s back operation was a success.

The Swansea City skipper suffered a back injury earlier in the year and missed a few games in March.

The defender travelled to London’s Lister Hospital for micro surgery, Richard Evans told the Evening Post:

‘It was a routine 30-minute operation to trim part of the disc. It went very well,’

‘The disc in question was protruding and pushing onto a nerve.

‘It was causing him a lot of discomfort and forced him to miss a couple of games last season.

‘The consultant is confident he will be fine in six weeks’ time and ready for the early part of pre-season training.’
