Swansea City skipper Garry Monk says the home win against Liverpool was a ‘perfect’ end to the season.

Danny Graham scored the winning goal in the last 5 minutes of the game, that saw the Swans finish 11th in their first season in the Premier League.

Monk also thanked the fans for their support throughout the year:

‘It was the perfect way to end our fantastic first campaign in the Premier League,’

‘It was really special. It’s always special to do the lap of honour, but even more so this season because of the importance of the season and what it means to the club and city.

‘The boys wanted to show their support to the Jack Army, and vice versa. I’ve not experienced a better atmosphere in my time here than this season, so we’ve got to thank the fans for that.’

The defender also added how special it was to have captained the side in every division in the Football League:

‘Now is the time to celebrate everything that has been accomplished this season.

‘To have played in the Premier League with Swansea, and to have captained the club in every league, is so special. It really is a dream come true.

‘To have done that with Swansea, a club we all love, makes it more special.

‘It’s important that we take advantage of this. Hopefully we can get the infrastructure of the club sorted.

‘We have played some fantastic football and this is an attractive place to play now, so to get the facilities sorted would be brilliant preparation for next season.’
