The Bolton News are today reporting that Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson is optimistic that Ferrie Bodde will join their first team squad on their pre-season tour to Austria next week.
|“I can’t see this happening unless HJ is willing to lower the price, which he should not do.”|
The Premiership side have had a £3.5m bid rejected by the Swans according to the paper, but Megson is hopeful of sorting out an alternative to sign the Dutch midfielder.
Their article reads:
Wanderers have already begun to suss out alternate options with the pair`s respective clubs, Swansea City and West Brom, holding out for what the Whites feel are unrealistic transfer fees…
…with two solid offers still on the table, Megson is still optimistic that both players will join the first team squad when they travel for a pre-season fitness camp in Austria next week.
The Bolton News also believe that a deal to sign Bodde would depend on whether or not they could strike a deal with Ferrie’s former club Ado Den Haag, who will receive 50% of any fee we receive for Bodde.
They report: The Bolton News understands, however, that much could depend on whether a deal can be brokered with his former club, ADO Den Haag, who agreed a 50 per cent sell-on clause when they sold the midfielder two seasons ago for just £80,000.
If they do fail in their on-going attempts at signing the 27 year-old, Bolton are lining up alternative midfield targets.
I’m not quite sure what sort of agreement they’re hoping to sort out with Ado Den Haag, a clause is in his contract to pay them 50% of the selling fee, and Bodde is contracted to us, not the Dutch side.
As it stands though, Bolton haven’t bid anything close to our £5m asking price, Huw Jenkins is standing firm and will not sell for anything less.
