Full Time Match Stats: Swansea City 0-1 Luton Town

|

It was a disappointing evening at the Swansea.com Stadium as Russell Martin’s side failed to find a way through a stubborn Luton Town side who netted the all-important winner through substitute Harry Cornick.

Swansea City’s best spell came in the opening 20 minutes with some bright attacking play with the likes of Christie and Wolf causing problems with their pace down the flanks. Obafemi was always giving the visiting backline plenty to think about with his movement and attacking runs. Grimes played a superb through ball for the striker to run on to but he couldn’t get the right contact on the ball and his shot was saved.

Kyle Naughton’s exit due to injury saw a change of shape as Martin reverted back to his usual 3-4-2-1 system and we didn’t quick look as free-flowing in attack as we did.

We dominated possession throughout but Luton were still able to create some decent chances themselves.

It was another very disappointing match for the Swans which led to boos at the full time whistle. An opportunity missed against a Luton side who were missing some of their key players.

got to stop getting yellow cards. good gritty performance. should have been 3:0. campbell is really playing well, he covers so much ground, and gets good strong tackles in. shame that fred dose’nt get better service, am sure he could do more. bree seems to have got his crosses working much better now. so good when things start clicking into place. lets hope we can keep up this relentless pace.COYH.
