The match officials have been announced for Saturday’s Premier League game at the Liberty Stadium, as Carlos Carvalhal’s Swansea City host Everton.
A game that sees the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ashley Williams back in South Wales, but more importantly – for us – Jordan Ayew is available again after his three-match ban came to an end.
Every time I see the match officials announcement for our games, it’s always the same reaction – ‘Oh not him…’.
It’s Lee Mason. Last week it was Roger East, who we’ve never won away when he’s in charge, and still haven’t after a 1-1 draw at West Brom.
Lee Mason has already officiated three of our games this season, at home to Watford (Lost 2-1) and the two Arsenal games, losing the away game 2-1 before winning 3-1 at home under Carlos Carvalhal.
Premier League record when Lee Mason is referee:
Home:
P8 W3 D2 L3
Away:
P6 W0 D1 L5
Overall:
P14 W3 D3 L8
Looking at that woeful record when Lee Mason is in charge, it’s no surprise that he’s one of the least welcomed referees.
One of those 3 wins at home was the 1-0 victory against Manchester City when Luke Moore netted the winner.
Referee: Lee Mason
Assistants: Harry Lennard, Marc Perry
Fourth official: Lee Probert
