Roberto Martinez wants a busy Summer as he aims to improve the squad ready for next season.
Swansea City enjoyed their first season in the Championship for 24 years following their League One title in 2008. We’ll finish just outside the play-offs and the Swans boss is now looking to improve the squad to go one better next year.
At times, we lacked that extra fire-power and quality to win games we should have won but didn’t. We’ve drawn 20 games this season and many of them we deserved to get 3 points from.
Martinez told the Western Mail that he feels that some areas of the squad are weak which will need strengthening:
‘It’s going to be a busy summer and that’s the way I want it,’
‘We have been following players that can improve the squad and we are well on the way to doing that.
‘The targets are there, everything is well advanced and it will be sorted before we come back in pre-season.
‘I don’t think there will be many changes but we just need to bring in players that can improve certain dimensions of our squad.
‘It’s clear that we are very, very good in certain departments but a little bit weak in others.
‘The players just need to know this club will push everything into making the Premiership. And the fans can rest assured that we will improve the squad whatever happens.’
