Martinez praised his three amigos – Guillem Bauza, Angel Rangel and Andrea Orlandi after yesterday’s FA Cup win at Billericay.

All three started the game and Bauza got both goals that sees us go into the hat for the second round draw.

The home side took the lead in the first half but our second half come back gave us a 2-1 victory. Bauza’s first was an excellent strike from the edge of the area and his first was an easy tap-in from 6 yards.

Roberto Martinez said:

‘I was looking to see how Bussy and Andrea Orlandi would adapt,’ said Roberto. ‘I told them to enjoy what is the best cup competition in the world.

‘They showed what is required, the first finish from Bussy was outstanding and that shows you how much he wanted to win the game.

‘We came here knowing this was a banana-skin and that can affect you as a player.

‘But that wasn’t the case. The boys were eager about what they were going to see and enthusiastic about the FA Cup, and that proved to be the difference in the second half.

‘I was happy with our second-half performance. We were more alert and our starting position was a little more adventurous.

‘It took us 45 minutes to know what was needed, but we had that character and reaction to get through to the next round.’

The Swans will find out who their opponents are in the second round today at around 5:15pm. You can watch the draw live on BBC1.
