Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez says reaching the play-off this season is a big ask but it’s achievable.

We’ve dented our play-off hopes in the space of 4 days after suffering back-to-back League defeats for the first time in Roberto’s reign as manager here.

Crystal Palace beat us 3-1 at home last Saturday before we lost 1-0 at QPR on Tuesday night.

Hopefully we can put things right again on Saturday when we visit Sheffield Wednesday, and Martinez was in typical upbeat mood, he told BBC Sport:

‘It’s a big ask but it’s something that is achievable.’

‘I’m looking at the squad, we are starting to become stronger in terms of numbers,’

‘The international break is coming at a good moment and then we have six fixtures in the most exciting time of the season.

‘So we are in the right fight. But we know we have to pride ourselves and learn quick [especially with] the new expectations the football club has got.’

We’re 5 points adrift of 6th place but a win on Saturday would vastly improve our chances of the play-offs and would give us a boost in confidence which is what we need with only 8 games to play.
