As Swansea City celebrated on the pitch following clinching the league one title yesterday afternoon Manager Roberto Martinez switched away focus from the ongoing proceedings with the Leeds United arbitration.

Leeds United are appealing a 15 point deduction from the start of the season on the basis that the Yorkshire club believe it to be an unlawful decision. It is expected that a three man panel made up of a representative from the football league, Leeds United and an independent arbitrator will be made before the season draws to a close.

Over The course of the season, Leeds United have been severely criticised for their actions in their application to overturn the football league`s decision. Carlisle United, Doncaster Rovers and AFC Bournemouth have already come out and have declared that they will take action should the 15 points be restored to the Elland Road outfit.

Martinez has remained a pillar of calm over recent months regarding the ongoing situation. However he does believe this story will be set to go on and believes clubs would be right to appeal against any favourable outcome for Leeds United.

Martinez told The WM

“”The Leeds situation is away from football.Football issues should be dealt with by football`s governing bodies.”FIFA and UEFA don`t like it when you take things outside of football. I don`t want to waste any time thinking about it because if the decision goes against the football rules, it`s going to be a much bigger problem. Other teams could then take it further and they would be right to do so.”

Swansea will now turn their attentions to the visit of Leyton Orient as they can put more gloss on a already successful season.
