Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez has said his players are desperate to start playing again ahead of Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace.
The Championship sides have had a 2-week break thanks to the World Cup qualifiers being played. 7 Swansea City players have been involved on international duty – Owain Tudur-Jones, Ashley Williams (Wales), Matty Collins, Joe Allen and Shaun MacDonald (Wales u21s), Dennis Lawrence and Jason Scotland (Trinidad & Tobago).
Martinez is expecting a difficult test at Selhurst Park and he told BBC Sport:
|‘We’ve had a little bit of a break and you can see the players are desperate to get on the pitch and play some football,’|
‘We know it’s going to be a difficult test.’
‘Their start has been shown by the number of points they’ve got.
‘But their performances have been much, much better than what the table reflects.
‘I’ve been impressed with some of the performances they’ve had.
‘It’s just a matter of time before they get the points.
‘So I think we should be a little bit wary of playing a Crystal Palace side that the table doesn’t truly reflect their potential.
