Roberto Martinez is looking to add a winger and a striker to his squad in the January transfer window.

A winger is number 1 on Roberto’s wanted list and he could also look to sign a frontman, depending on the fitness of Gorka Pintado and the future of Manchester United loanee Febian Brandy.

The Swans are currently lacking firepower up front as we have now equalled a Football League record of 8 consecutive draws. Our last victory was in mid November away at Norwich City.

Since that win, Swansea have scored on average only 1 goal per game.

Martinez recently missed out on signing Irish international Niall McGinn, who opted to join Celtic instead, no surprises there really.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins told the Evening Post:

‘Roberto has said for some time that he wants a wide player and as yet we haven’t brought one in,’

‘Niall McGinn was someone we were looking at and he has gone elsewhere, but we have still got a few options we are looking at.

‘Everybody seems to be after the same players, so it could be that any moves are difficult to complete.

‘But whether it’s on a permanent basis or a loan, we are looking to do a deal.’
