Swans fans will have to go back 13 years in the history books to find the last time the South Wales Club won away to Bristol Rovers.

The last time these two sides met at The Memorial Stadium was back on the 23rd April 2005 and produced a 2-0 loss for The Liberty Stadium outfit.

Roberto Martinez will be looking to secure another away win that will contribute to a run of form that has seen Swansea sit top of league one.

Bristol Rovers have experienced a wake up call following their promotion from league two last term.

Paul Trollope`s side have slumped to 18th place in the league and with 4 points between them and a relegation place , Martinez will be confident in extending Swansea’s unbeaten away run to 8 games.

Despite the gulf between the two sides Martinez has remained overly cautious.

Martinez told :
The Western Mail

‘It`s another ground that has always been difficult for us to play on.’

If you look back through our history we have always struggled to get a result at the Memorial Ground.’

In the last few seasons we have found it difficult to adapt to the conditions there. It`s a good challenge for us to make sure we do adapt this time and play our own football.’

If we want to be successful, we will have to be on top of our game.’

It`s going to be a very, very hard game, but it`s an exciting one as it`s a derby and we don`t have many derbies in the league.”

I`ve been very impressed with Bristol Rovers this season.’

Swansea will remain top this afternoon if they can secure all 3 points.
