Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez disagreed with the referee’s decision today to send off Garry Monk.

The club captain had a mad 2 minutes or so mid-way through the second half after getting booked twice before being given his marching orders.

The first was a foul on Varney, denying him a good goalscoring opportunity and the second was for another foul, this time on Charlton sub Holland.

Martinez told the official site his views on the red card:

‘I don’t think it was a red card,”

‘Garry took the ball before the man, but these things happen over the course of a season.

‘Hopefully, the next decision will go our way instead.”

Monk also thought the decision was harsh, he said:

‘Probably a challenge like that would get me sent-off one in 20 times. But I’ll never pull out of a 50-50 tackle, that’s not in my nature.”

Do you agree with Monk and Martinez? Was it a sending off?
