Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez has set his side a tough target for the remainder of the season – to win all 16 remaining games.

If Swansea maintain their recent form in the last 8 games, we’ll win 12 and draw 4 – that’s 40 points giving us a total of 104 for the season.

Roberto Martinez wants to maintain the current level of performance and he told the Official Site:

‘I want to win all 16 league games we have left between now and the end of the season.”

‘We are entering the last third of the season and our target is to maintain our current level of performance.

‘If we do that then the points will take care of themselves because it’s still too early to look at the table.

‘We’ve come a long way as a team since August, but we’ve got to maintain that progress.

‘Our fitness levels are good – we wouldn’t be able to play the way we do if they weren’t – and we’ve been working to peak in March.

‘With so many games, we need to keep sharing the work load between the squad which is good enough to handle it. The only problem is, nobody wants to have a rest. They all have huge desire to win for SwanseaCity, and that’s been the key ingredient to our success.

‘Ferrie Bodde against Walsall in midweek was a typical example. It would have been easy for him to come off injured and have a rest. But no, he was desperate to go back on, and then grabs the winner.”

The Swans haven’t experienced a League defeat since November when Huddersfield beat us 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium.

Since then we’ve won 12 and drawn 3.
