Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez said he’s expecting a tough game ahead of tonight’s Carling Cup match against Watford at the Liberty Stadium.

We host the Hornets for a second time in just 3 days after beating them 3-1 in the League on Sunday, but Martinez is expecting another tough encounter:

‘Whatever team they pick up, it’s going to be a very difficult test for us.’

‘It’s hard to tell how far we could go if we got through,’

‘The draw plays a big part and there are a lot of Premier League sides left in the competition.

‘If you get one of those away from home, you know it will be difficult.

‘For now we are just concentrating on trying to maintain our performance level against Watford and, if we do that, I’ll be happy.’

‘It’s been a long journey for us in the competition already.

‘I wouldn’t say the draw has been kind to us. Okay we have been at home, but that’s the only advantage we’ve had because the opposition has been top level.

‘We have had to work hard to get this far and we have played some good football.

‘The players are excited about the game because having the chance to reach a quarter-final of a major competition is a big thing.

‘It’s a chance for them to make history for the club.’
