Roberto Martinez says a draw yesterday at Sheffield Wednesday was a fair result.

Neither side could break the deadlock as the game ended goalless.

The home side came closest to scoring but Dorus De Vries made a few excellent saves and Garry Monk also made a goal-saving tackle.

Martinez said:

‘We had long spells of possession, but the final pass let us down. I thought that a draw was probably a fair result.

‘I was very pleased with the attitude of the players on a very difficult pitch and overall the performance was what we needed.

‘At least now we have a break to give the players a rest, ready for the final push. I’m excited about the next six games.’
