Roberto Martinez has denied claims that Swansea City have made a bid for Niall McGinn.

The Derry City midfielder, who is also attracting the interest of Scottish Premier League side Celtic, was at the Liberty Stadium last Sunday to witness the Swans face rivals Cardiff City.

Since then, rumours have quickly arisen suggesting we’ve tabled a bid for the rising international star.

Martinez rubbished the speculation though and said:

‘I have had conversations about three players – one in Spain and two over here, but that is it.

‘Whenever we make a signing we will let our fans know.

‘We have not made a bid for him (McGinn).’

Martinez is likely to be looking at a few new recruits in the January transfer window and losing Marcos Painter and Ferrie Bodde for the season through injury.
