Roberto Martinez says Garry Monk will be available to play on Tuesday night if he shows no reaction in training from a recent back injury.

The Swansea City skipper has missed the last 4 games but Martinez says he’s likely to make a return at Loftus Road tomorrow evening.

He told Wales Online:

“Garry is a big presence and, as captain, is an influential player for us,”

“He trained very well on Sunday with no adverse reaction, and as long as that remains the same, he will be available for selection.”

Monk’s absence has coincided with our drop in quality at the back, as we’ve started to concede a number of soft goals. We looked out of character on Saturday, as we slumped to a surprising 3-1 defeat against Crystal Palace, our second home loss of the season and our first since November 21st.

The captain, if he does return, is likely to replace Albert Serran who gifted Palace their opening goal on the weekend and along with Williams, made errors to give Warnock’s side an easy win.
