Swansea manager Roberto Martinez has declared that Ferrie Bodde is in the same boat as as any other player at the club despite interest from Derby County and West Bromwich Albion.
Speaking ahead of pre season training Martinez has revelled that as far as he is concerned the want away Dutchman is still a part of his plans for next season but is looking at the bigger picture if Bodde moves on.
In the last few days West Brom have said to have increased their interest in signing the midfield maestro and this in turn could give rise to a bidding war between the two clubs.
Derby have made a third bid for the former Ado Den Hagg player in the region of £2 million but this is not an official offer according to Martinez.
Martinez Told The SWEP:
|”Until Ferrie is told differently, he is a Swansea City player. He has got another two years on his contract and I can definitely see him playing for us next season. Yes, something could still happen with him, but that is true with every player in our squad. He has been the story of the summer and I understand it`s probably going to carry on, but Ferrie`s in the same situation as every one of his team-mates. We`re planning for the new season and we`re planning with Ferrie as part of our squad.Derby`s third bid was never official.”. |
‘It`s a compliment to us and what we did last season that they are interested, but that`s all it is and we`re focusing on pre-season..In football you always need to look at the bigger picture and that`s all I`m doing. You need to have cover ready whether it`s for injuries, suspensions or losing players.’
