Roberto Martinez and Huw Jenkins are having talks today regarding the Spaniard’s future at the club, reports BBC Sport.
The manager and chairman will sit down for discussions for the first time since Wigan and Celtic have shown a keen interest in appointing him.
The 35 year-old has spent the last few days in Ibiza considering his options as both Wigan and Celtic have approached chairman Huw Jenkins asking for permission to speak with the Swans boss.
As you would expect, there’s plenty of speculation and most of it links Martinez with a move away from the Swans, and it looks like Wigan could be favourites to appointing him.
As things stand though, nothing official has been said on the matter and we’re still awaiting Martinez’s thoughts on the situation.
If he was to leave, Huw Jenkins, and credit where it’s due for appointing Martinez in the first place, will not let him go on the cheap, and he’s holding out for a compensation fee around the £2-3million mark.
