Manchester United youngster Jamie Mullan could make a summer move to Swansea after a recent trial at the club.

There was speculation a couple of months ago suggesting that he was joining us and manager Roberto Martinez says he could well join us permanently in pre-season.

He said: ‘He has a fantastic record in the United reserves.’

‘He has pace and talent and he is highly-regarded, but he is being released so we’ve spent some time together.

‘He’s gone back up north for now, but it’s something that is going to continue and it could well be that he comes back soon.’

Mullan joined the Premiership side from Notts County in 2004 and has been a regular for the Reserves team.

He is a versatile winger and is comfortable playing on either flank. He possesses pace and good crossing ability which sounds to me the type of player we’ll need next season.

Tom Williams isn’t a regular on the left wing and we don’t have any other left sided players with pace and good crossing ability.
