Leroy Lita scored on his debut for Sheffield Wednesday following his loan move to the Owls this week.

The striker completed the move to the Championship club on Friday and came on as a 54th minute substitute to net a valuable winning goal away at Charlton Athletic.

It’s the 28 year-old’s second loan spell of the season, having spent some time earlier on in the season at Birmingham City, but after scoring 3 goals in 10 games, his loan was cut short due to injury.

Lita has struggled for games with the Swans in the last two seasons and it may prove to be the right decision to allow him to leave permanently at the end of the season.

Fellow team-mate Jazz Richards has also gone out on loan for the remainder of the season, joining Ian Holloway’s Crystal Palace.

With no game this weekend, the 21 year-old will be hoping to make his debut on Wednesday night when they travel to Huddersfield Town.

Richards shared his reaction of the loan move with the Official Site:

‘Swansea were happy to let me go out on loan and it was a great opportunity for me,’

‘It’s a brilliant club to be coming into, sitting in the top six of the Championship.’

‘As a player you want to be fighting for a place in the Premier League and hopefully I can play my part in the club getting there.’
