Reports today are claiming that Championship side Leicester City are going to win the race to sign Newcastle United winger Wayne Routledge.

Swansea City made Newcastle United a £1.5m bid for the 26 year-old but it’s been reported that it was rejected as it didn’t include full-back Neil Taylor in the deal – a player they’ve been trying to sign throughout the Summer.

Routledge spent last season on loan at QPR, scoring 5 goals in 19 League games – helping Rangers win the Championship title.

The Swans also look like failing with another transfer target – Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale. A £2m bid has been rejected and while a loan move would interest the player, Fulham boss Martin Jol seems unwilling to allow that as he’ll unable to include a 24-hour recall clause in the deal.
