According to a Vital Swansea Poll, Michael Laudrup was the fans’ favourite choice to replace Brendan Rodgers as their new manager.

Around two weeks ago, we asked you, our readers, who you wanted as manager and the Danish legend was your clear favourite, picking up a massive 60% of the vote.

When the poll first went live, former assistant manager Graeme Jones was the bookie’s favourite but he rejected the job following an approaching from the Swans.

Ian Holloway was also heavily linked with a move, but Blackpool regularly said that they had received no contact from Swansea City to speak to their boss.

Laudrup quickly received 50% of the votes and received further approval from the fans as speculation grew that he was going to accept the job offer at the Liberty Stadium.

Brighton manager Gus Poyet and Graeme Jones both received 8%, with only 7% for Ian Holloway. Big outsider and former Manchester United striker Ole Gunner Solskjaer had 5% with Gianfranco Zola 3% and Norwich City’s new boss Christ Hughton having just 1%. The remaining 8% voted for someone else not in the list.

Our new poll asks for your updated opinion on the appointment of Laudrup. Are you happy with the Swans replacing Rodgers with the great Dane? Vote now on the bottom right hand side of the website, you can also have your say in the article comments below or via the forum at forum here
