Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup is preparing a list of targets to pursue in the upcoming January transfer window, as he looks to strengthen his squad for the second half of the Premier League season.
Current loanee Jonathan de Guzman will be one of his main targets, as Laudrup has revealed to Sky Sports that he hopes to sign him permanently from Villareal.
Some fans may see his Swansea City spell as indifferent so far, with some impressive performances marred by some forgetful ones too. However, Laudrup is keen to keep him beyond his season-long loan.
‘We haven’t spoken to Villarreal about a long-term agreement but I would like Jonathan to stay. He is doing very well here.
‘Some players need time to adapt to the Premier League, so I was surprised he started so well.’
‘We have to be prepared for January now. When the possibility is there, then you have to go for it.’
There are also reports on twitter from local journalist @pjcadden that Swansea City will give Michael Laudrup £10million to spend in the New Year.
