Paul Jewell said his players lacked the belief that they could come back to get a result at Swansea City today as his Ipswich side lost 4-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

Ipswich started brightly and had the better of the play in the first 7 or 8 minutes but an early goal from Fabio Borini helped to settle the home team down and after that there was only going to be one winner, as the visitors looked very vulnerable in defence.

Jewell said:

We started very well but conceded a very poor goal and we never looked likely of coming back from there,’

‘There is not the belief there that we can come back from behind and win a game and we have to get that in our make up for next season.

‘The players have done terrific since I’ve been here, considering where we were but as a team we have gone as far as we can. We have papered over the cracks and the last two games have shown how far we have to go.

‘We need to add some quality to what we have here, some physically and mentally strong players.

‘The players have given everything, but we are behind Swansea and Norwich when you look at their squads.’
