After receiving more than 100 applications for the job, Huw Jenkins now says he has cut that down to a ‘top 10’ short-list.

The Evening Post also say that the new manager will be British, or at least based on Britain.

Jenkins told the Evening Post:

‘There are still applications coming in, but I’d say we’re down to a top 10 now,’

‘We are well aware of the need to get things settled again as soon as we can and ideally we’ll have some positive news by Friday.’

After suspending the betting yesterday afternoon for apparently big bets on Aidy Boothroyd and Paul Tisdale, Victor Chandler have now re-opened the betting and Martinez’s assistant Graeme Jones is still favourite at 6/4. Boothroyd’s odds have shortened and he’s now third favourite at 13/2, just behind Gary Speed and Paul Tisdale at 6/1.
