Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has cooled speculation that Ferrie Bodde’s move to Derby County is imminent.

Bodde did not travel with the squad to Sweden on the weekend after he was given leave to sort out family problems in Holland. However Derby County are due to jet out to The Netherlands today as part of their pre season preparations where they will face Eerste Divisie side TOP Oss.

Rams manager Paul Jewell has expressed his dissapointment at the state of negotiations and has refused to rule out another bid for the highly rated Dutchman. This comes after his Chairman Adam Pearson withdrew from the race to sign Bodde for the second time early last week.

Jenkins Told The SWEP:

“It is not at all significant that Ferrie hasn’t travelled to Sweden. The truth is very simple on this one. The truth is that he has got a few things to sort out with his kids. He has gone back to Holland to sort them out and he will be following the rest of the squad over to Sweden on Tuesday. This is something he agreed with Roberto and it has nothing to do with Derby or anyone else. Ferrie said there were a few issues he had to sort out and we were more than happy to help him. That’s it.”
