Kenny Jackett still believes he’s the man to take Swansea forward, despite in the increasing criticism from the fans.

‘I’ve never doubted I’m the one to see this through,’ Jackett said.

Just less than 10,000 fans witnessed our worst performance of the season as we lost 1-0 at home to Oldham.

Speculation is growing over his future at the club as the Swans’ boss is showing no signs of motivating the squad to produce match-winning performances.

Jackett now concedes however that hopes of automatic promotion are all but over, he said: ‘It’s not impossible but very difficult, we’re probably looking at the play-off places now,’

‘The loss was disappointing, but Oldham were the better side and deserved the points.

‘When you lose at home at this crucial stage of the season you expect to take stick from the fans. You have to accept it and move on.’

Pratley again stuck up for the manager and said: ‘The supporters target the manager, but it was the players who were out there on the pitch and we’ll hold our hands up – we feel that we let Kenny down,’

‘It’s disappointing to get heckled by your own fans, but they’ve paid their money and are entitled to their opinion.

‘We have no complaints about the defeat, Oldham were the better team in all positions and are the best team we’ve played this season.

‘But our performance was embarrassing, to be honest, and we’re all bitterly disappointed.

‘We’ll never say never to automatic promotion while there’s a chance, but it’s a big gap to make up and we have to start performing.’

Despite what Pratley says, you can’t possibly put all the blame on the players. Of course, they provided a gutless performance but it’s down to the manager to pick-up and motivate the players before games.

They play like a bunch of individuals and show no understanding of how to play together as a team. Will to win and hunger shines through like an eclipse and the club will need a big sort-out in the summer, as at this rate, we’ll struggle to get a play-off place.
