With his contract expiring in June, Izzy Iriekpen says he’s not entirely sure where his future lies.

He nearly left the club in the January transfer window as Championship side Southend United were one of the front runners to clinching his services.

He got arrested in November after an incident outside a nightclub and was then dropped from the first team.

He also handed in a transfer request after as he insisted that he had to be playing on a regular basis.

The centre-back said: ‘I would be very happy to stay at Swansea.

”But it depends on whether the club want to keep me and what the offer is.

”I’m on a bosman free transfer in the summer.

”There are other clubs out there looking for centre-halves and I’m only 24, so it’ll depend on how the negotiations go, if there any, go with Swansea.

”There’s been no indication yet. I haven’t spoken to anyone and nor has my agent.”

”If the club wanted to talk they would phone my agent, so obviously they are holding out for something and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.”
