Swansea City record signing Wilfried Bony’s hamstring injury is not as bad as first thought
Swansea City record signing Wilfried Bony’s hamstring injury is not as bad as first thought, and he is only expected to be out of action for 10 days.
The £12m striker suffered the injury during last Thursday’s 1-0 home defeat against Valencia in the Europa League group stage match.
Manager Michael Laudrup initially thought that the injury ‘could be a serious one’ but scans confirm that is not the case.
The scan confirmed that he only has a Grade One hamstring strain, which has a recovery time of 10 days, and so far he has had the problem for 4 days.
That means he could return for next Monday’s game against Hull City, but if not he should definitely be back for the trip to Norwich City 6 days later.
Angel Rangel’s injury news from a scan wasn’t so good though, as it confirmed he has a Grade 2 calf strain which is likely to keep him out for 2 to 3 weeks.
