Besian Idirzaj scored the only goal as Swansea City Reserves beat Southampton 1-0.

The Austrian striker converted Kurtis March’s cross with a close-range strike to score the vital winning goal.

Two players were sent off during the game, Aarran Racine was shown red after a second bookable offence and youngster Casey Thomas was also given his marching orders after getting involved in a clash involving both sets of players.

Matty Collins had the best chance to put us in front just a few minutes before half time as he stepped to take a penalty, but his spot kick was palmed around the post by the goalkeeper.
