Pablo Hernandez has left Swansea City after completing a move to Qatar outfit Al Arabi, signing a three year deal.
The Spanish attacking midfielder, signed by former boss Michael Laudrup from Valencia for £5.5m, is thought to have joined Al Arabi for a fee of around £4m.
There is no known confirmation of Hernandez’s move as yet, but he has been pictured in training with his new club.
The news comes as a big blow to Garry Monk and his plans for next season as he arguably played his best football for the club under the new manager.
He looked more suited to the central attacking midfield role, as opposed to a wider position he played in under Laudrup.
The speculation regarding his future began when it was known that he didn’t travel with the rest of the squad for the club’s pre-season tour in USA.
More key players are expected to leave. Michu looks set for a loan move to Napoli this week, while Ki has apparently been in talks with Aston Villa.
