John Hartson is predicting a tough season ahead for his hometown club.

Not that the former Celtic star believes that Swansea City do not have enough quality to stay up in the Championship for the 2009/10 season. In the vastly competitive league that has seen once Premier League side’s fall by the wayside Hartson has forewarned the club he supports that clubs will not be intimidated as easily as some of the League One sides last term.

Hartson Told The WM:

“At home will be more difficult for them because the teams that visit will have more quality. So when teams come to the Liberty Stadium they will enjoy playing on the great surface there, in front of a big crowd. I think Swansea intimidated a lot of teams in League One but there are a lot of hard games now and they will be under no illusions that it is going to be tough. I think it will be difficult for Swansea. I don’t think they will finish top six but I think they have enough quality to stabilise and stay up.”

Swansea City will face Dutch side ADO Den Haag in the last of the pre season friendlies on Tuesday evening.
