The postponed clash against Hartlepool United could be played as soon as Tuesday Roberto Martinez has revealed.

Martinez was speaking at Swansea’s training complex at Llandarcy Park to ITV’s Soccer Sunday programme.

The fixture Yesterday was called off due to the tragic news from Victoria Road that Pool’s 20 year old midfielder Michael Maidens had died in a Road Traffic Accident on the A174.

Maidens was a passenger in a Vaxhall Corsa which collided into a metal post near the greystones roundabout heading towards the village of Lazenby in the borough of Redcar and Cleveland

Mr Maidens subsequently passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

The game was mutually postponed by both Swansea City and Hartlepool United as a mark of respect for the Family of Mr Maidens, Playing and back room staff of Hartlepool United.

It is not certain at this stage if the game will go ahead next week. More news when Vital Swansea gets it.
