Scottish First Division side Hamilton are in talks with Swansea about signing 17 year-old striker Chris Jones on loan for next season.
Roberto Martinez’s assistant Graeme Jones, has a recommended the youngster plus many others to Hamilton, where he was assistant boss last season.
Hamilton boss Billy Reid said:
|‘ “There is talk of a young striker, Chris Jones, coming up on loan. We`ll decide on that in the next couple of days, but that might happen.|
“He`s one of the younger lads who is on the fringes of the first team. He may benefit from coming to Accies and pushing for a squad place.”
With the likes of Lee Trundle, Pawel Abbott and Darryl Duffy also competing for places last season, it was difficult for Jones to get a chance and it’ll be beneficial for the player and the club if he goes out on loan next season.
Chad Bond, who was released last year by Kenny Jackett is back training with the Swans as Martinez has given him a chance to impress.
The young striker joined League of Wales side Port Talbot after leaving the Swans.
