Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin said that Leon Britton performed well against Manchester City but isn’t sure if he’ll play on Saturday.

The general consensus after tonight’s 2-1 defeat against City in the EFL Cup 3rd round is that Leon Britton is essential to the team. He helped our passing game this evening and Fulton also performed well alongside him.

Guidolin said:

“I saw Leon Britton play very, very well; it was an important game. I don’t know about Saturday because it is close and we do not have much time.”

About the game, Guidolin was pleased with his side’s improved performance and he felt that they deserved more, as he admitted his side aren’t getting the luck:

‘I have to work with my players, my staff and to pick up better results. This is the important thing.”

“I am a little bit disappointed because I think we deserved another result. The game was balanced. The performance of my team was good but it’s not a good moment for us.

“Sometimes a little thing do not go for you. Man City are a very good team, even with other players.

“There will be new players on Saturday but I am optimist because I saw my players play a good game. Saturday was more difficult but we can play a good game.

“We have to look forward and if we play well and work hard and we are working hard I think it will get better.”

The Swans face the daunting task of facing a full strength Manchester City on Saturday (3pm). They’ll need to show a similar level of effort and desire they did tonight if they want to get anything from the game, as Guardiola targets 10 wins in a row as Manchester City boss.
