Mark Gower says the squad won’t get carried away about our chances this season after beating Cardiff City 1-0 on Sunday.

Middlesbrough loanee Marvin Emnes scored the winning in the second half to prevent our arch rivals from regaining top place in the Championship table.

The result sees our impressive form continue and it was also our 6th consecutive clean sheet. The Swans now look forward to entertaining Bristol City at home on Wednesday night – hoping to maintain our unbeaten start at the Liberty Stadium.

Gower said:

‘It was a massive derby and we got the win at Cardiff which is great for us,’

‘But we won’t get carried away with the win or our start.

‘We have got our aims ? we finished seventh last year so the play-offs are the aim.

‘But we know that we can’t go into games thinking we can just play our usual way and beat teams.

‘Teams are going to be gunning for us now. You only have to look at a few of the results this season that people would consider shocks.

‘They can happen to any team, and if we take our eye off the ball then it could happen to us.

‘We are in a good position at the moment, but last season we fell away at the end which was really disappointing.

‘But we’ve ensured that we are right up there and the job for us now is to keep building our performances and results ? starting with Bristol City tomorrow.’
