Swansea City have been dealt a blow ahead of Tuesday night’s home game against table-toppers QPR as Mark Gower will miss the game after picking up a hamstring injury during Saturday’s win at Reading.

Gower has been one of our most consistent performers so far this season, and has looked a different player in the centre of midfield – a new role under new manager Brendan Rodgers.

The former Southend United player will have a scan today to understand the full extent of the injury.

Rodgers said his absence is a big blow to the team:

‘He won’t be available for tomorrow night which is a real shame because he’s been outstanding this season,’

‘I hope it’s not too serious; he wasn’t running or anything at the time, it was just a twist and he just felt it.

‘He’s been a real influential member of the team and now we’re just waiting for the extent of the scan and we’ll take it from there.’
