Swansea City look set to miss out on a January move for N.E.C midfielder John Goossens, despite an agreement with the club.

It emerged yesterday that the Swans had an agreement with the Eredivisie side to begin talks with the player about a move in January, but the 22 year-old looks set to stay at N.E.C until his contract expires at the end of the season – according to his agent.

There are a few different reports in Holland as to why a move to Swansea City won’t happen. Some are saying that he is asking for too much in wages, while others suggest he wants to keep his options open next Summer when he is a free agent.

Whatever the reason, it seems most likely that the Swans won’t sign Goossens in the New Year. Dutch side Feyenoord have also been linked with a move for the player.
