Swansea City midfielder Darren Way received good news this week as he has not suffered a recurrence of the shin injury which kept him out of action for 8 minutes.

The former Yeovil player complained of pain in his shin and was rested for the recent games against Walsall and Millwall.

There were concerns at first because the pains were in the same area which gave him a troublesome 8 month spell on the sidelines.

However, after visiting a specialist, he was given the all-clear to resume football action.

It’s unlikely that he’ll travel to Northampton this Saturday but he should be back for the home against Bournemouth the following Friday.

Physion Richard Evans said: ‘There’s no sign of Darren’s stress fracture coming back which is very good news,’

‘He has just got a bit of irritation around the shin bone.

‘The specialist looked at Darren’s history as well as a new set of X-rays and said the operation he had in the summer was a success.

‘We’ve got to try to understand why he is still getting some pain.

‘He’s going to be fitted with some in-soles in his boots and we will also be modifying his training as we have done with Bayo Akinfenwa.

‘Hopefully that will stop Darren feeling any pain.’
