On loan Espanyol midfielder Jordi Gomez says he’s hoping to hit 20 goals this season after grabbing a brace on Saturday.
|“Hope Espanyol don’t want him back as he’s just what we need.”|
He scored twice in the space of 20 minutes to give us a 3-1 win at home to Doncaster and his tally for the season now rises to 13.
Gomez was an injury doubt before the game be he proved how important he is to the starting line-up with 2 excellent strikes to continue our push for a play-off place.
The Spaniard was particularly delighted with his second goal, he said:
|“The second one was the best – it`s one of the best goals I`ve scored for Swansea,”|
“The two goals I scored Jason (Scotland) assisted me with and he`s a great player.
“I don`t know how many I will score this season, but I hope 20. But the most important thing is that we get in the play-offs. Winning is more important than me getting 20 goals.
“We are playing very well and we can reach the play-offs.
“It`s important to play with good players and that`s what we have got at Swansea.”
“It`s difficult to know what will happen next season.
“Espanyol have many problems now because they are on the bottom.
“I will see at the end of the season. But I`m not thinking of my future now, I`m thinking of playing at Swansea and enjoying playing football.”
