Swansea City have been linked with three full backs, but surely one of them – Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno isn’t a £13m target!?

The Express have referred to a Football Whispers article – a site I’ve never previously heard of, that claims Swansea City are preparing a £13m bid for Liverpool left back Alberto Moreno.

There’s a few reasons why I just can’t imagine there’s any truth in that story whatsoever. Firstly the price, I can’t imagine us paying those sort of bids for players this Summer, certainly not after getting our fingers burnt last Summer when we paid £15.5m for Borja Baston.

Secondly, I’d be very surprised if we were in the market for a left back, with Martin Olsson and Stephen Kingsley currently available as our two choice left backs.

And thirdly, Moreno is nowhere near a £13m player, and not one that we’d value at that price. It would make no sense to buy a £13m left back – who would have to be a regular starter at that price, and then have a player like Martin Olsson suddenly playing second fiddle.

The story just seems like a non-starter for me.

The Mirror are also linking us with moves for Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber – the 28 year-old available on a free, and Barnsley right back Andy Yiadom. Those two players – one who used to work with our head coach Paul Clement, and the other – a Championship player who would be relatively cheap – already sound like more realistic targets, that would fit our current transfer target criteria.

Where do the Swans need to strengthen this Summer? How many signings do we need to bring in? Let us know via the comments below…
