On loan Cardiff City striker Warren Feeney says he is desperate to impress during his time at Swansea.

‘There are better strikers out there, who have the same work rate but can finish.’

He made his first start on Saturday but failed to real set the world alight in terms of his performance and was brought off around the hour mark.

Warren Feeney says that might have been do the fact he was trying too hard to impress:

‘I’ve come here to play football and play games and hopefully, done enough to keep my place in the side,’

‘I thought I did okay, but I know I can do better. I think I was trying too hard to make an impression.

‘I wanted to start well and I’m desperate to do well here. I know I need to sharpen up on one or two aspects of my game though, but that will come with game-time.

‘It was the first game I’ve played in a few months and not playing regularly does catch up with you. Hopefully I can get a run of games now as you need that to find your feet at any level. I’d like to think I’ve done enough to start tonight and I’m hoping the manager thinks the same.’

‘Any goal will do for me. I’d take a 30-yard screamer, a close-range tap in or one that bounces off my head.

‘Goals are goals and I think there are some around the corner. ‘

His first team place could under threat tonight as Darryl Duffy has made an early recovery from the groin injury he picked up 10 days ago at Elland Road.

I’d imagine he’ll make the bench tonight if fit.
