We round-up the views from our forum on Kenny Jackett’s departure this week.

THE FANS ON JACKETT’S DEPARTURE:

Madness, fair play to Kenny for having the bottle to know when he had to go, the time is right, proper shocked by this but well chuffed, Kenny is a decent bloke, wish him all the best and that but its time for a change.

Well its good in a way hes gone because something had to change was not moving anywhere with the team as it was hopefully get some one decent in down here now and get on with securing the play off place that we should at least be getting with our current squad.

I think now was the right time for Jackett to leave the club. The one thing I hoped for is that he resigned rather than get sacked as he has won and done quite a bit for this club. Through his time here at the club I think he done a good job (excluding recent times) and I hope where ever he goes now he does well and I wish him success in the world of football.

One comment recently made on this site said that it will be easier to sack one (Manager) than 11 players after last Saturday’s performance. Perhaps we should now ask the whole squad if they will commit and give 100% to the club.

FANS’ VIEWS ON POSSIBLE REPLACEMENTS:

I’m up for Peter Reid or Paul Ince (I know hes at Macclesfield but hes doing a class job there and i reckon we could pinch him) both men have loads of passion.
Superswans

Someone like Paul Ince or Peter Reid would be good.

Right. Its simple. We need an experienced person. Not somebody like a Saunders or a Martinez just setting out on a mangerial career. We need a good man-manager and somebody who will instill some discipline. Shape up or ship out. Easy. Mickey Adams would be my choice.

Martinez was liked by some supporters when he played for us, but whilst his style of play was appropriate in certain instances, there were several postings on these sites criticising his defensive mode.

Please do not let us have a virginal ‘fans favourite player’ as manager.

We need a seasoned campaigner who can control the ‘scouse mafia’, with stick or carrot, and grab the team by the balls and get us into the playoffs.
