Swansea City could sign their third midfielder of the Summer as Espanyol’s Wakaso is believed to be discussing a move to the Liberty Stadium.

While there is on-going talk about the likes of Gomis or Bony signing, there has been nothing up until now about Wakaso joining.

All the attention has been on a striker and it looks like the highly-rated Ghana international could complete a move soon.

The 22 year-old’s arrival would be the second Espanyol player to join this Summer after Jordi Amat, and the third midfielder following the captures of Jose Canas and a return on loan for Jonathan de Guzman.

Wakaso finished joint highest goalscorer in the 2013 African Cup of Nations and he would add a goalscoring threat to the midfield, as manager Michael Laudrup still looks to bring in a proven striker.

In just 10 international appearances for Ghana, Wakaso has netted 7 goals, and he can play as either a left or central attacking midfielder.

Wakosa could cost up to £3.5m, and Villareal with a 50% stake in the player would receive half of it.
